FAQ

Sliding door repair questions, answered

What causes a sliding door to stick, whether it’s worth repairing, and how scheduling and payment work.

Pricing & payment

How much does sliding door repair cost?

It depends on what the door needs. Rollers, a track repair, a new lock or handle, the size and weight of the panel, and how many doors are involved all affect the price. Estimates are free. Call us or send a few photos and the door's width, and we can usually give you a good idea before we come out.

How do I pay?

You can pay online through our secure PayPal link on the Make a Payment page. Ask us about other payment options when you book.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. All of our work is guaranteed. Ask us about the specific guarantee for your repair when you get your estimate.

Repairs

Should I repair my sliding door or replace it?

Most sliding doors that are hard to open, noisy or won't lock can be repaired. New rollers, a track repair and a lock adjustment usually restore smooth, secure operation for a fraction of the cost of a new door, without the frame, stucco or flooring work a replacement involves. If a door truly isn't worth fixing, we'll tell you.

Why is my sliding glass door so hard to open?

The most common cause is worn or broken rollers. The small wheels under the panel flatten, crack or seize over time, especially with Florida sand, humidity and pool chemicals. Debris in the track and dents in the rail are the next most common causes. Try vacuuming the track first. If it's still heavy, the rollers likely need replacing.

My sliding door won't lock. Can you fix it?

Yes. Usually the panel has dropped because the rollers are worn, so the latch no longer lines up with the keeper on the frame. Sometimes the latch itself is broken. We check both and fix the cause, whether that means new rollers, an adjustment, a new lock or all three. We also install additional security locks.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. A Sliding Door Repair is licensed and insured, and we've been in business since 2003. We're a family-owned company founded by a group of local firefighters.

Scheduling

Do you work nights and weekends?

Yes. Night and weekend appointments are available at no extra charge, so you don't have to take time off work.

How long does a sliding door repair take?

Many roller, lock and handle repairs can be finished in a single visit when the parts are on hand. Some older or less common doors need parts ordered, and we'll let you know if that's the case when we give you the estimate.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Central Florida, including Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Lake counties. That covers Orlando, Winter Park, Winter Garden, Kissimmee, St. Cloud, Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Oviedo, Clermont and the surrounding communities. If you're not sure we cover your address, just call.

Can I send photos instead of having someone come out for the estimate?

Yes, and it often speeds things up. Use the estimate form to upload up to three photos of the door, track and rollers, and tell us the door's width and number of moving panels.

Property managers

Do you work on commercial properties, apartments and condos?

Yes. We work on both residential and commercial properties, including houses, apartments, condos and hotels, and we work with apartment and condominium management companies to provide sliding door repair for tenants.

Can you repair doors in several units at once?

Yes. Property managers can send us a list of units and what tenants are reporting, and we'll schedule the work together, including at night or on weekends at no extra charge.
